Ward pihêsiwin ᐱᐦᐁᓯᐏᐣ
Larry Langley
Who am I?
I’ve spent most of my life in service — both to my city and my community. After more than 31 years as a Police Officer, I retired knowing the job taught me lessons that reach far beyond a badge or uniform: the value of listening, the importance of accountability, and the need to act with clarity when it matters most.Since 1988, Ward pihesiwin has been my home. I raised a family here. I watched neighborhoods grow, change, and face new challenges. My roots run deep — some may even remember my father, Larry Langley Sr., who served on City Council and was a well-known broadcaster in the region. While I’m proud of that legacy, my campaign isn’t about the past — it’s about what comes next.

Larry Langley Sr. (Former Edmonton city councillor and local news broadcaster) was remembered for his contributions to the community, including efforts to see the opening of a library in Riverbend Square in 2000 and building a new ambulance bay in southwest Edmonton.
Community Experience, Not Just Credentials
For nearly a decade, I oversaw crime management, traffic safety, and domestic violence response specifically within this Ward. I wasn’t looking in from the outside — I was on the ground, building relationships, solving problems, and helping people through difficult moments. Many of you might remember the “Sgt LaRrY Says” safety updates I created — part of my effort to keep the public informed in plain language, without spin. Why I’m Running
I’m not backed by a slate or party, and that’s on purpose. Municipal politics should be about service — not sides. I’m running because I believe we need practical voices who understand the real concerns facing our neighborhoods. Too often, I hear residents say they feel unheard. I know what it means to show up, listen without judgment, and take action based on facts — not trends or slogans. What I Bring
A grounded, practical understanding of local issuesThe ability to make decisions — even hard ones — with fairness and urgencyRespect for frontline services, public input, and evidence-based planningA deep commitment to community safety, livability, and responsible governanceI’m not interested in empty promises. I’m interested in fixing what’s broken — whether that’s crumbling infrastructure, rising taxes, or the way City Council sometimes forgets who they work for.Personal Notes
Outside of public service, I’m a proud father, neighbor, and longtime advocate for community-led safety initiatives. Whether it’s organizing graffiti cleanup programs or improving public education around traffic safety, I’ve always believed that local change starts with local people. If you’re looking for a Councillor who listens, acts, and tells it to you straight — I’m here, and I’m ready.Larry Langley
